The History of the Ludlow Community Association
Founded in 1957 |
|
The Ludlow
Community Association took its name from the neighborhood elementary
school — Ludlow School, at Ludlow and Southington Roads, shown as a
red square on the map. About a third of the homes in the Ludlow area are in
the city of Cleveland. This arrangement dates more than 80 years, with parts of
Cleveland near what is now
Shaker Square included in its school district.
In 1987, in a major reorganization, Shaker
Heights closed four elementary schools, including
Ludlow. The building is now used by
PEP - Positive Education
Program for its Greenview Day Treatment Center. |
